Lest people think I'm being mean to James Cameron, bear in mind its from his own mouth that his latest science fiction movie is based on the Disney film Pocahontas. This video was an attempt to see how close the parallels run and the result was...pretty darn close. Just some good natured fiun made at the expense of a film I consider taking itself way too seriously. - This is also an attempt to upload a video in HD resolution. I hope it works. - I own neither Avatar or Pocahontas. The rights to use the images and sounds are covered in the Parody clause.

I very much agree :) I liked that the song 'Savages' which presented the irrational anger on both sides. Avatar had no indication that even when the Na'vi tied up Sully and friends to ritually murder they that they were doing anything wrong. Whatever happened to King's dream? 'Not by the color of their skin but by the content of their character' I wish there were more subscribers to that, then just? scratching old scars.

Honestly, I think it's unfair to compare Pocahontas to Avatar. Although Pocahontas isn't historically accurate and waters down the actual violent history, it still has far more depth than Avatar. Pocahontas should the good and bad from both sides and encourages the? idea of both whites and the natives living together in peace instead of the natives fighting the whites in an epic battle. Pocahontas isn't a flawless film but it's good. Avatar is a piece of shit.
