If it? wasn't the Americans' war, then why did the U.S. get involved in the first place? The fact is that the U.S. thought they could win foreign war, sent over thousands of troops along with a large amount of resources, and then realized that they had been defeated, which led to the U.S. retreating. South Vietnam did lose, but technically so did the U.S. as well.

@gc3k--I think it was the editing and pacing? of the movie..seemed make the movie move very slowly and each scene seemed to be it only music video. When I watch the Ultimate Directors cut which includes live action mixed with the Black Freighter and additional scences the movie flows better. But too much extra scenes were used like slow mo kicking and rolling on the ground that could have went to the deleted scenes to give the movie better pacing.

Before looking it up on IMDB, I seriously thought that it was? him. A really frickin built version of him.

I like how the Comedian is kind of an allegory for America and or Americans, especially when it came to the Vietnam War. "I'm leaving. I'm gonna forget about you and your sweaty piece of shit country." While textbooks may be almost forced to talk about it, the fact that we lost still wounds America's heavy ego. None of the politicians or even citizens wanted? to be reminded of the defeat unless it involved rebuking soldiers. The "lost cause" would be remembered, but almost in embarrasment.

Actually, victory in war is something that is not achieved by arguing. If that were the case, we could truly call ourselves? the smartest beings on the planet. Maybe it may not have been officially sanctioned by any government but murder and rape is exactly what allow armies to make a psychological statement.
